Early WW2 U.S Army Combat Engineer Dog Tags - New Guinea (Pacific Theatre)

Original early type tags & chain (Nov 1941- July 43) that belonged to Capt. David. M. Goodall HQ Det. 2nd Bn. 43rd Engineers.

Goodall was a combat engineer at Borio, Papua New Guinea in the Pacific theatre, the engineers were tasked with constructing roads and runways whilst under constant attack from defending Imperial Japanese forces, Goodall survived and returned to the States in April 44.

After WW2 ended he remained in the military and would serve throughout the Korean & Vietnam wars (Stateside) and retired as a Lt. Colonel.

These tags were acquired over 30 years ago and remained in a private collection.
