WW1 British Officer's Private Purchase Trench Candle Light

A most uncommon WW1 period British officer's private purchase candle light as used in trench dug-outs and medical stations.

The nickel coated light still retains its original flexible and heat tolerant MICA front screen, so often missing from lamps, often replaced with wafer thin glass.

There are no makers marks present but the rise & fall column/stand is identical to one made by 'MAW' and their lights are often broad arrow marked, even the lathe turned rings on the bottom of the base are matching, base unscrews to reveal a spring used for putting continual upward pressure on the candle.

The small side bracket which holds the front reflective panel in the open position is now missing, someone with a soldering gun and a steady hand could replicate one, there are two sets of folding hanging hooks present and they are as sharp as the day it was made.

The lamp does have some age related wear with some surface scratches and the odd little ding but overall in good order, there is also a side fixing but uncertain its true purpose, please study the images in regards to condition.

Have not encountered this exact pattern before.
