Late Victorian / Boer War Period Mounted Infantry Officer's Horse Bit

An untouched late Victorian mounted infantry officer's steel horse bit with elegant brass cheek bosses.

The bosses are a Royal crown garter with the wording 'Infantry Mounted Officers' within a circlet, the central device shows an English rose, a Scottish thistle and an Irish shamrock, in lovely condition and retain much detail, not over polished/rubbed.

The steel work has some very light surface pitting but has been left as found, some remnants of its original black finish present to the curved cheek pieces.

A good un-messed with military horse bit, being offered for sale as a display piece only.
