Original WW2 Indian Made British Army Jungle Green Battledress Trousers
A scarce pair of Indian made British army jungle green battledress trousers in good service used condition.
The cotton twill trousers retain good colour and also retain their original twin strap & buckle waist fasteners, the large front map pocket along with the first aid pocket are in good order with all stitching intact.
The majority of buttons are the original pressed steel type with a zinc coating, these are most often missing due to the rough finish of the buttons cutting through the thread that attaches them, one is missing on rear waistband, all have been period replaced in the fly area with other types of buttons, some oxidation present on the original zinc buttons & buckles.
Printed inside the waistband is a typical Indian type circular makers/acceptance stamp, a date is located between the parallel lines but now almost indiscernible, possibly a figure 8 for August, a broad arrow and the remnants of a figure 4, 100% wartime used.
This pair are in good condition considering they were service used, there are dirt marks & staining on both knees as seen in the images, have been left as found and not cleaned.
The trousers were acquired many years ago and were part of a large uniform group belonging to an officer in the Royal Welch Fusiliers who served in the Far East, never been in a collection before.
The waist is an approx. 32 - 33 inches, the leg length is ideal for someone standing 5' 10'' tall, offered for sale as a collectable/display item only.
