British 1908 Pattern Water Bottle Set 1919
A British WW1 period 08 pattern water bottle set with signs of much service use.
The enamelled bottle is typical Great war pattern with its raised shoulder ridge and being totally flat on the bottom, also there's no wire loop to attach the cork stopper, cord sewn directly to the thick felt cover, the cork stopper is held firm within the neck and no attempt has been made to remove it.
The webbing cradle has the correct front position fixing as many were modified to topside in around 1920, the cradle bears the makers name ME.CO Ltd (Mills Equipment) and year of manufacture 1919, there is much wear (threadbare) to one area due other equipment rubbing, there is also a field repair on the underside, again seen in the images, the bottle has not been removed from the cradle for decades.
The wool/felt cover does have areas of heavy wear with broken stitches and moth damage, still retains a great look.
Please study the images in regards to condition.
