WW2 British R.E Officer's 21st Army Group HQ Battledress Blouse 1944
An appealing Royal Engineers officer's 1944 dated battledress blouse badged to the 21st Army Group HQ, the BD is Canadian made (very popular with British officer's) in a good size 13, has the usual quality features such as underarm vents and with a softer serge wool, less course nap to the material.
The Major's medal ribbons show that he was awarded the military O.B.E (2nd type) and mentioned in despatches (oak leaf), a 8th army veteran of the N.Africa campaign and later Italy & Germany.
The BD is in very good condition with only light dirt marks around the neck line and folded back lapels, no modification work done to these areas which is uncommon on a officer's BD, there is one moth nip to one epaulette and signs of metal pip removal (due to promotion to Major), one metal major crown absent, one pin size hole near rear central seam but not noticeable from outside, best to mention.
