Georgian British Officer's Gorget

A nice example of a 1796 universal pattern officer's gorget which retains much of its original fire gilding, the engraved crowned GR cypher with laurel leaf décor remains as crisp as the day it was originally done, some light surface wear and scuffs present to the gilded finish as seen in the images.
The underside now with a nice age related patina, also on the underside is a small exposed section of the wire former, a good sign of a totally original gorget.
