WW1 British Compass Case (3rd Battalion)

A wonderful WW1 leather compass case that still retains its original strap, this un-dated example bears a field applied inscription to the 3rd Battalion ? along with what may be a service number 20866 (un-researched), there is also an internal ink HQ mark present.
