Rare Canadian 1899 Oliver Pattern Ammo Pouch (1914)

A rarely encountered Canadian 1899 Oliver pattern large ammo pouch manufactured by Hugh Carson of Ottawa in 1914, the Oliver pattern pouch was used by Canadian troops during the Boer war and early WW1 period but was found to be too uncomfortable when fully loaded as held up to 80 rounds.
The leatherwork & the stitching are in very good condition, the front of the flap is marked with the letter `C' .
What is nice about this item is that it retains a pistol lanyard used as a carrying strap. Size H 6 1/2 x W 6 1/2 inches.
